Long Beach Pride

Long Beach is a diverse community - one of the most diverse I have seen. The Long Beach Pride Festival was huge culminating in a parade and street festival ( held in an area much like darling harbour) by the waterfront. There easily were twice the number of people who attend Fair Day in Sydney.

It was a huge event with many types of entertainment areas - pictured above are the Fiesta Caliente tent ( a favourite of the Mexicans and Latinos) , a Country and Western Tent (pictured with the mechanical bull above) , a Main Event Area( with Live Performances such as Indigo Girls and Jennifer Hudson), a dance tent and even an interfaith area.

There was lots on in addition to the festival - one of the highlights being a party on board the Queen Mary Boat and cruise on the harbour ( DJ Paolo played the best music that I had heard all weekendby far.)

I would well recommend this Long Beach Festival to others.
